This Privacy Policy explains how Cyber Shuriken Technologies Corporation ("Cyber Shuriken," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information through cybershuriken.com and network.cybershuriken.com (together, the "Services"). Cyber Shuriken is based in Canada, and this Policy is written to align with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
We have designated an individual accountable for our privacy practices and compliance with this Policy. You can reach our Privacy Officer at contact@cybershuriken.com with the subject line "Privacy" for any question, access request, or complaint.
| Source | What's collected |
|---|---|
| Contact form | Name, organisation, email, phone (optional), area of interest, and your message |
| Theme preference | A light/dark display preference, stored only in your browser, never sent to us |
| Network members | Skills, experience level, category, and availability for your listed profile — no name, photo, or contact details are shown publicly |
| Network employer/business accounts | Business contact details and payment information for account and introduction fees, processed by a third-party payment provider |
We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics on the current site (see Section 11).
By submitting information through the contact form or a Network account, you consent to its collection and use as described in this Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting our Privacy Officer — though withdrawing consent for information needed to operate an active account or process a payment may mean we can no longer provide that part of the Services.
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as follows:
Some of our service providers (such as our contact-form and, eventually, payment processors) may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Where this happens, that information becomes subject to the laws of the jurisdiction it is processed in, including lawful access requests by that jurisdiction's authorities.
We retain contact form submissions and account information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry or provide the Services, or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
We apply reasonable technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved, including enforced HTTPS encryption in transit, restricted access to internal files, and standard web security headers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Under PIPEDA and applicable Canadian law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no cost, except where a request is excessive or repetitive.
Cyber Shuriken Network member profiles are intentionally anonymized: no name, photo, gender, nationality, or other personal identifier is shown publicly. Employer accounts never see a member's identity or contact details directly — introductions are made by Cyber Shuriken staff after reviewing a request, and there is no direct messaging between members and employer accounts on the platform.
The Services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, additional notice.
Questions or complaints about this Privacy Policy can be sent to our Privacy Officer at contact@cybershuriken.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
